Picture above shows The Tom “Beatty Lakester”, one
of the most legendary belly-tank racers in history.
Tom Beatty
was a salt lake racer that later on became a speed equipment producer. The
Lakester made use of a forced induction setup, a configuration that wasn’t as
popular among racers as nitro-methane, but it has proven its potential in the Beatty
Lakester. The Beatty
Lakerster was fitted with a GMC 371 supercharger with four Stromberg 48 Carburetors,
stuck on top of a flathead V8 engine.
