1935 Ford Pickup (2007 story...)
Back in 2007 I traveled to California to visit Joseph in LA and bring home the 1941 Plymouth coupe.
While I was there, Joseph also had this 1935 Ford pickup hot rod, kinda streetrod. I didn’t examine it very closely at the time, but later that year, my friend B v 10 and I decided to import it to the Netherlands anyway.
When it arrived, reality hit: it was far from road-ready. Luckily, B and I where young and loved a challenge ๐
We rolled up our sleeves and made it happen!
Completely from the ground up rebuilt, It finally came out flat black
Al Esper Ford's Chief Test Driver Comics
Some Cool Al Esper Ford Comics I´ve collected, Honestly too cool not to share with you all
Forget boring car brochures and corporate jargon.
Back in the late 1940s and 50s, Ford had a much cooler way to talk to drivers: full-color, action-packed Sunday newspaper comic strips. Starring Ford’s legendary Chief Test Driver Al Esper
As Ford’s Chief Test Driver in the 1940s and 50s, Al Esper didn't just drive cars—he punished them.
From red-dirt tracks to secret proving grounds, he pushed prototype Fords to their absolute breaking point to make sure they were tough enough for the American public.

these weren't just funny pages, they were survival guides for your machine.
Aren't these 1949 comic strips are pure automotive history. Cheers Skip'
