Fisher Body... an automobile coachbuilder founded by the Fisher brothers in 1908 in Detroit, Michigan. By the 1950s the company had become the pillar of General Motors manufacturing empire. In the 1980s it was slowly phased out as a stand-alone brand and was merged into the other General Motors divisions such as Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, etc.
Today it is still known as Fisher & Company. The name was well known to the public, as General Motors vehicles displayed a "Body by Fisher" emblem on their door sill plates until the mid-1990s.
