Midnight Cowboy...

a 1969 film directed by John Schlesinger.
This was the first starring role and in my uppinion a genius one... by Dustin Hoffman as Ratso Rizzo! Also starring Jon Voight, in his first role after six years of TV work he plays the dumb Texan Joe Buck...

Story
Joe Buck is a small town Texas boy with a dream.  Leave his small town where he works as a dishwasher and head to the big city of New York and find the only work he can, as a male gigolo.

He eventually runs into “Ratso” Rizzo, a small time con man with a bad limp that promises to introduce him to people that can help him out.  Soon enough, Joe realizes that Ratso screws him and takes his money.

Joe’s broke, runs into Ratso and they form a friendship.  As the harsh NYC winter comes, Ratso gets sick.  Joe does a couple of dates, gets enough money from a man paying for his services and takes Ratso to Miami...
