1954 Oldsmobile

Posting Mike's ride from across the pond... 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 4 door sedan...
This car has less than 15k miles since almost complete mechanical overhaul listed below in 2005

Original rebuilt 324” Olds Rocket V8, Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, rebuilt generator and starter, custom true dual exhaust with glasspack mufflers. Almost all bolt on components have been powercoated.
Original rebuilt automatic transmission (4 speed Hydramatic)
Front suspension...rebuilt (all parts are powder coated), New front springs (lowered by cutting 1st coil off), all new/rebuilt steering components other than steering box, idler arm and draglink rebuild (idler arm and draglink rebuild kit are included with the car), All new brakes (master cyl, wheel cyls, lines, shoes, springs etc). Drum brake residual valves installed, New rear brake drums, All wheels have been powder coated, and wrapped with Diamondback wide white radial tires including full sized spare.

Rear suspension... Original Olds rearend, Air bagged with Slam Specialities 6”bags. The compressor and 1 gallon receiver tank are from Air Ride Specialities. The rearend is attached using 36” boxed radius rods with greaseable chromoly rod ends, and located side to side with a Competition Engineering panhard bar. The frame has been c-notched and boxed after the dog leg allowing the car to sit with the rear bumper 2” off the ground with the bags deflated.

Body... Sanded to bare metal and repainted in 2006. There is no body filler in the car other than in the drivers quarter panel, seriously. Nosed, decked, Shaved rear door handles and trim holes (doors finished in lead). Comes with fender skirts (not installed)

Replaced floors and relieved transmission tunnel and rear seat area to allow drive shaft/radius rod travel when car is lowered. Completely restructured trunk area with custom storage boxes built into the sides, allowing a Summit Racing 15 gallon poly fuel cell with new fuel lines to mount underneath the car. I have insulation cut and ready to install on the floors and in the roof.

Car has been completely rewired using an EZwiring kit(all new wiring and fuse block). I have installed a Newport Engineering electric wiper motor, Auxiliary electric engine cooling fan, Auto Meter gauges (oil press, volts, water temp and fuel level), CD player.
