Slightly slow movie... about two teenagers who take their souped up '57 Chevy and make a cross country journey to enter it in the National Championship drag races in California.
Along the way a waitress who quits her job hops in their car and this turns out to bring more trouble than they thought. A gang of town punks accuse them of cheating after racing them, the two come up against a local cop who is obsessed with putting the "juvenile delinquents" in jail.
