1946 Ford F1 Patina Pickup Truck - VonSkip



Here's one Cool Patina 1946 Ford 1/2 Ton Pick Up Survivor Truck project I found at a Junkyard and Imported in 2016 from sunny & dry Nevada, CA, USA.  
Finished it in Dec 2020 after a completely Body-Off (re)built...

ENGINE

1977-1979 Oldsmobile 403 6.6 liter V8 Engine (557265 4B) 3.385-inch stroke.

185 HP (138 kW) 320 LB-FT (430 N-m) Torque.

Custom Made Hurst Style Engine Mount with Flathead V8 Motormounts.

New ACDELCO (R46SZ) Sparkplugs

New Standard Motor Products Spark Plug Wires.

New Exhaust Manifold Gaskets.           

New AC Delco PF24 (6437462) Oil Filter

Freshly filled with Kroon Oil HDX Super Multigrade 20W50 Motoroil

Stainless Steel Braided Throttle Cable

Holley 4 Barrel Economaster Carb with new Throttle cable spring

New Vacuum lines      

 

TRANSMISSION

TH350 BOP Automatic Transmission

Freshly filled with Kroon SP Matic 4026 ATF/Transmission Fluid.

New transmission filter & gasket

New Lokar RADICAL 32" Single Bend Automatic Transmission Shifter

Kickdown kabel set TH350, Hooked in trans, not to carb.

New trans lock dip stick

New custom made shifterbooth

New torque converter cover

Mishimoto Transmission Cooler mounted up front with new (copper/rubber) Cooling Lines

 

FRAME

Original 1946 Ford Frame

New custom X-member

New custom transmission mount

 

COOLING

New 3 Row Alu Radiator with Custom made frame

All New copper cooling lines / rubber hoses

16" (40cm) Electric H-Gear Cooling Fan Installed, Custom Made Bracket

38mm adapter incl temp switch, also has manual switch on dash

2" Temp Gauge installed under dash    

Temp sensor TS71T installed

All filled up with fresh/new cooling fluid

 

STEERING/SUSPENSION

Original 1946 Ford Lares Manual Steeringbox, Completely Rebuilt (USA)

Now with long life nylon bushing. Spring & retaining ring no longer required.

Steel Speedwaymotors 1928-1948 Ford steering wheel adapter hub with 7° taper.

Black vinyl 13.5" Grant 570 Classic Series 4-soke steering wheel, 1.75 inch dish, chrome.

New Bob Drake drag link assembly

Custom tie rod sleeve with new tie rod ends

Speedwaymotors Gas-a-Just Rear shocks with shockmount studs.

 

AXLES

Original 1946 Ford I-Beam front axle

1967-1972 Ford F-100 / DANA 44 Rear End (3.92) Filled up with fresh limited slip oil.

Custom made & ballanced (By GTO/NL) driveshaft with new U-joints

 

BRAKES

Drum brakes all around.

New 1946 Ford Master cylinder, 1939-1940 V-shaped splitter

New (copper) brake lines, clips & hoses, all around

Emergency brake system rebuilt and functional, custom fitted Chevrolet S10 cables in the back. 

New cylinders

 

BODYWORK

Floor & cab corners all holes & rusty pieces repaired...

Recessed Firewall to make room for the 403 Olds.

Floor gap & old fuel filler gap welded shut

 

WINDSHIELD/GLAS

New 2 piece windshield glass (green)

New windshield rubber/seal set

Side windows are original/old but okay for this style of truck, go up & down

Rear window also original/old and okay

 

INTERIOR & WIRING

Bench seat with storage room underneath.

Complete new wiring, fusebox, 5x relay, 150 amp 12v circuit breaker

New ignition switch

New headlight switch,

New floor mounted high & low beam switch

New Horn & Switch in dash

Double 12V plugs for navi/phone

New chrome column mounted turn signal switch

Turn signal indicator/lights installed in dash

New alternator warning light in dash

New 1-speed 12V / 6W 90° Wiper motor installed

           

FUEL

Poly fueltank (70 ltr) with manual gauge installed in truckbed/box

All new fuel lines, filter, hoses

 

TRUCKBED

Completely tared down and reinstructed frame

New wooden floor & trunck/box, custom flame burned to look old.

New 12v battery with kill-switch in truckbed/box

 

 

EXTERIOR

New 7" EU Headlights

New 1946 Ford blinkers

New chrome "stop" lense rear lights

New driverside mirror

 

EXHAUST

Custom made double exhaust with cherrybomb mufflers.
