Paul Sr & Jesse James, 1930 Ford Hotrod Coupe

Despite I'm Not A Real Fan Of The (Orange County Choppers) Teutels... Because It's "White Week" And Me Being A Real Hotrod Entousiast, I Couldn't Not Resist Sharing This Gorgeous Coupe Overhere. The 5-Window Coupe Show'n Above is Paul Teutul Sr. Stunning 1930 Ford Model A. It's Built By Jesse James & Bob Merkt At Austin Speed Shop.

Jesse James

Bob Merkt (AKA Bob Bleed)

The Built Was Covered In Outlaw Garage Episode / Discovery Channel.
Their Goal Was a 1950’s East-Coast Style Hot Rod And I have To Say... Jesse & His Crew Nailed It! The Original 1930 Ford chassis with stamped VIN A2764008 Was Disassembled, Squared Up & Fitted with New Cross-Members to Dial in the Stance.

They Used a Dropped & Drilled I-Beam with Custom Hairpins Up Front and a Buggy Spring with a Modified Pete & Jakes Ladder Bar Assembly for the 1957 Ford Rear-End.

The Coupe Body, Found By Bob Merkt in Iowa,
got Channeled and Chopped 2".

They Went for a Cool 1953 Chrysler 331ci Hemi Motor, Weiand Three-Deuce Intake, Flowing Zoomie Headers and 3 Black & Chrome 97 Stromberg Carburetors on Top.
A 727 Torqueflite Automatic Transmission,  Lincoln Self-Energizing Drum Brakes and 1940 Ford Steelies. 1954 Ford dash, a Set of Gauges Behind the Glove Box Door, Where You Will Also Find the Ignition & Light Switch.

The Only Thing That I Don't Really Like on This Coupe is The Twin Flat-Bar Insert for the Grille, But Hey... Who Am I 😉.
On The Other Hand... The Four Vintage Snowmobile Lamps on Handmade Stands, The One-Off Nerf Bar that Circles the Buick Taillights, I Really Dig!

This Aamazing Hot Rod was Offered For Sale A While Ago By Red Hills Rods & Classics. I Don't Know Who Eventually Wind Up Getting It? But It Sure Is One Lucky Guy (or Gall 😉)

A Detailed Built is Featured in ‘Traditional Rod & Kulture’ Magazine Issue #33. But I'm Sure... That If You Search The Web Some More, You Will Find A Lot About This Incredible Coupe Also...

Note: If You Never Did. Be Sure to Visit Austin Speedshop's Webiste.

  1. There are some things on this hot rod I like, but I agree with you Skip about the two bars on the grill. That just looks dumb. I can dig Paul Sr. and Jr. too. but I don't care for Mr. James at all. especially after what he did to Bullock. Not cool. But that's just my opinion.

The other thing about the rod is the engine. White? Why paint it white? Not a good color for an engine.
