Now, an interesting side note on the '59 and '60 Chevrolet Impala. They were indeed fast, but the aerodynamics of the "laid down fins" as opposed to the "stand up fins" on other makes would cause the cars back end to lift, which would slow the car down in the straight aways. Thus the design was no good for the super speedways, as I understand it.
